Revolutionizing Transport: LCC Pushes for E-Scooter Legalisation

The London Cycling Campaign (LCC) has published a research paper advocating for the legalisation of e-scooters and other micromobility technologies in London.

The LCC believes that these devices, when granted access to cycle infrastructure, could significantly contribute to the city's decarbonization efforts.

The organization calls for a mass shift from car use to walking, cycling, public transport, and shared mobility options, as well as an increase in protected road space for cycling and electric micromobility devices such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes.

The LCC also suggests that shared e-scooter trials should be extended beyond driving license holders and conducted across the capital.

“The London Cycling Campaign (LCC) has published a research paper, arguing that road-legal micromobility technologies, with safe access to cycle tracks, will significantly contribute to the decarbonisation of the UK.”
